News from the Quantock Medical Centre
Please come along and support our Coffee and Cakes Fundraiser on Wednesday 12th December from 10.30am. We will be joined by the Singing Group who will be cheering us all up with some festive songs and getting us into the spirit of Christmas. It will also be an opportunity to meet and chat with the Patient Participation Group. We will be raising funds to support the costs of the community groups we have set up over the last year including: the Walking Group (Tuesdays from 10.30am at the Surgery) the Singing Group (Wednesdays from 10am at the Church Centre Stable Loft) and the Art Group (1st Tuesday of the month from 1pm at the Church Centre). These groups are open to the community not just our patients so if you fancy trying something new or meeting some new faces and having some fun do please come along, details and leaflets are available at the Medical Centre.
What have we all been up to this month as well as the day job….
The Walking Group have been exploring new routes around the Quantocks not just from the Surgery, the walks are usually about an hour and graded on difficulty with 1 boot being fairly flat and 2 boot with an incline, its an enjoyable social way to exercise and excuse to have a chat along the way as well as enjoy the scenery. The Singing Group joined the Wednesday Club at the Church Centre this month and thoroughly enjoyed singing some ‘war time’ favourites together and hope to do this again in the future (thinking songs from the musicals next time!). It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces reminiscing and sharing the joy and fun of singing together. The Art Group would love to expand and invite not just artists but anyone who has a craft project on the go and would like to come along and have some company and a coffee/ tea and biscuit.
We would also like to ask if there are any artists/ crafters out there who would like to come and do a demonstration or provide a bit of support to the group to share their knowledge and talent, do get in touch (Next Art Group is Tuesday 4th December at 1pm).
