News from the Quantock Medical Centre February 2019

When you visit the Quantock Medical Centre in Nether Stowey, have you noticed the clip boards that adorn the chairs in the waiting area? These are our Friends and Family Test sheets (see below) that the NHS and Care Quality Commission (CQC) asks us to get our patients to fill in every month.  Please consider filling in one of these forms every time you come to see us even if you have done one before.  Just a tick in the box is enough even if you can’t think of any improvements or further comments!

Our Art Group was well attended this month with three new visitors who we hope will be regular attendees and this month were treated to a lesson in pencil drawing basics and perspectives by Sue Webber. Please consider coming along next month on the 5th March 2-4pm (please note new start time) at Nether Stowey Church Centre, you are very welcome whatever your ability.  The Gardening Group has benefitted this month from a large donation of wood to build their raised beds and a generous funding donation from the Parish Council towards compost for filling those beds.  We now have some new tools courtesy of Sedgemoor Council funding and Grandfields, so we will be keen to get going in the coming weeks.  If this is a project you would like to get involved in please contact me at the Medical Centre.  You do not need to be a patient to join any of our Healthy Lifestyle Groups.

Don’t forget our Resuscitation Training on Tuesday 19th March at 10am at The Church Centre in Nether Stowey.  If you would like to come and learn some skills to help save a life call the Medical Centre on 01278 732696 and we will add your name to the list.  As we now have a defibrillator outside the Medical Centre there will be instructions on how to use this also.

We have another Coffee and Cake morning coming up on Thursday 21st March 10.30-midday at the Medical Centre to raise awareness and funds for our Walking for Health Group and The Quantock Walking Festival which is coming up on the 22nd and 23rd June this year.
