COVID 19 Latest Advice 13 3 2020

COVID 19 Latest Advice 13 3 2020

News Letter 13.3.2020

From today public are advised to stay at home  and self isolate for 7 days without any testing for COVID 19, regardless of travel history or contact with confirmed cases , if they have:

  • A NEW continuous cough
  • or a high temperature 37.8 degrees c or Higher

Travel and contact history are no longer important for diagnosis.

If people have traveled and they do not have symptoms, they do not need to self isolate.

If someone has serious symptoms and can not manage them at home, they need to use NHS111, or online NHS 111.

After 7 days of isolation and they feel better and no longer have a high temperature , they can return to their normal routine.

If they have no signs of improvement after 7 days they should contact NHS 111 or online nHS 111 before they leave their home or let visitors in.

Coughs may persist for several weeks in some people, despite the coronovirus having cleared. A persistent cough alone does not mean someone must continue to stay home for more than 7 days.

Testing

Testing will not be offered routinely
